The Perlson lab is committed to educating the next generation of researchers with a focus on scientific excellence.
We are proud of our research team and their scientific achievements.
Dr. Shani Gluska
M.D/Ph.D
During her Ph.D. Shani revealed the mechanisms by which Rabies virus hijacks the endogenous machinery of neurons in order to spread from the bite side towards the CNS. Shani also revealed the spatial signaling aspects of the neurotrophic factor GDNF and their role in neuromuscular junction formation and maintenance
Dr. Noga Gershoni-Emek
Ph.D.
Noga did her M.Sc.,in the Technion. Her Ph.D project focuses on understanding miRNA transport in motor neurons in health and disease.
Dr. Eitan Zahavi
Ph.D.
During his Ph.D, Eitan studied the lateral trafficking and dimerization states of neurotrophin receptors along the plasma membrane.
Dr. Michael Chein
Ph.D.
Michael worked on elucidating the role of neurotrophic factors in neurodegenerative diseases.
Ms. Noam Steinberg
M.Sc
Noam studied the Spatio-temporal signaling of BDNF in spinal cord neurons
Dr. Roi Maimon
Ph.D.
Roy finished his Ph.D working on the role of Semaphorine guidance factors family in neuromuscular junction maintenance and their role in neurodegeneration.
Dr. Keren Ben-Yaacov
Postdoctoral Fellow and Senior Researcher
Ms. Daria Adam
M.Sc.
Daria worked on the spatial role of BDNF-signaling in motor neuron growth and survival.
Ms. Danielle Geller
M.Sc.
Danielle studied the role of exosomal muscle-derived miRNAs in regulating local protein synthesis in neurons.
Mr. Avichai Bonnie
MSc student
During his M.Sc studies, Avichai studied the secreted semaphorine family and their receptors in relation to neuromuscular disruption in ALS.
Mr. Nimrod Rotem
MSc
During his M.Sc studies Nimrod worked on axonal miRNAs in ALS.
Ms. Miri Shvimmer
MSc
Miri finished her M.Sc studying the molecular communication mechanisms of neurodegeneration.
Dr. Shani Caspi
MD
Shani worked in the lab as a research assistant
Noi Avraham
MSc student
Dr. Ariel Ionescu
PhD
During his MSc, PhD, and Postdoc, Ariel studied the mechanisms of local protein synthesis at axons and NMJs in the context of ALS neurodegeneration.
Ms. Naama Rosmarin
M.Sc
During her MSc, Naama studied the role of muscles in axons and NMJ degeneration in ALS disease.
